|Asala: I Wanted Shafik to Be the President of Egypt and Kerdahy is not a Hero
|Sunday, August 05, 2012
|“I respect Dr. Mohamed Al Baradei and support him. I wanted Shafik to be the president.” Said Asala
“If my father supported Bashar al-Assad, I would have opposed him as I stand against injustice and tyranny.” Added Asala
Asala stressed that George Kerdahy is not a hero, as she respects Elissa more than him. She admitted the fact that she thought about traveling to the UAE after the arrival of the Muslim Brotherhood to power in Egypt. She is afraid of losing the freedom of art, creativity, etc….
She added: "I am proud of the veil, but I do not think that is imposed in Egypt in the time of the Muslim Brotherhood, though if one of my daughters is convinced to wear it, I will allow her to wear it."
Zaman Al Ekhwan; everywhere from Tunisia and Libya, Egypt and Syria, we are in the time of the Muslim Brotherhood. Tony Khalifa wants to shed the light on everything from their arrival to power, their struggle and oppression at a certain point in time, to the fears and concerns people have today.
