Ahmed Fouad Negm on Lemaza? September 10th: Tonight in Lemaza? on Al Kahera Wal Nas Tony Khalifa interviews Egyptian dialect poet Ahmed Foud Negm.  Negm is famous for his revolutionary, patriotic poetry. Negm was appointed by the Egyptian government as a laborer in mechanical workshops. He was imprisoned for 3 years for forgery.  During this time, he won first place in a writing competition organized by the Supreme Council for Arts. After that he published his first collection of poetry entitled ‘Pictures from Life and Prison’. Negm then became a popular poet on Egyptian radio.
